Costumer Reviews

This drive caddy is by the far the best quality and value for money drive caddy at the cheaper end of the market, and I'd rate it above some of the badly-designed 'top-end' models that cost ten-times as much.

Snug-fitting clip-together design:

No tiny screws to fiddle about with - the lid just levers off and clamps back down on top of the hard-drive with minimal effort, and holds the caddy together firmly. This snug-fit design can make fitting the drive a little awkward - but not enough to cause serious problems.

USB connection:

The caddy has a standard mini-USB port which on modern high-power USB 2 ports was compatible with the cables from my camera, mp3 player, and other portable hard-drives, on older low-power USB ports it requires the y-splitter cable that ships with it.

Drive Protection:

This caddy is perfectly fine for most household data-recovery, data-backup, and data storage, but the snug-fit design provides no real protection against knocks, bumps, or other physical damage to the drive, meaning that it isn't really suitable for serious portable use unless you buy a padded case for it (which is a good idea anyway).

The fake leather slip-case that comes with it is purely cosmetic and provides no protection at all.

Well, it's under a fiver, it works well ; looks ok...what more do you want? Comes with 2x USB ends for powering certain drives.

No trouble setting it up, I see peoples' point with saying it's a tight fit but really it fits fine if a little tight. Build quality isn't brill but it looks like it'll last so no problems there!

For under £3.50 it's a bargain!
